Patricia (Trish) Brown is a Wilmington, NC based Masters level Psychologist and Licensed Professional Counselor who works with children of all ages, pre-school, school aged, adolescents, young adults, adults, couples and families. She has extensive experience with children who have been traumatized and utilizes a variety of treatment modalities in her work with children and adolescents including play-therapy, sandtray/sand play work, art therapy, puppetry, and traditional psychotherapy. She does both individual work with her clientele as well as family therapy. Many issues are resolved in less than three months while others require more intensive long-term therapy.  

After graduating from East Carolina University in North Carolina in 1981 where Ms. Brown received her Master of Arts Degree in Psychology she worked in the mid-west in group/residential care until she returned to North Carolina in 1986 and was licensed by the NC Board of Psychologists the same year. By 2003, she added a secondary license and became licensed as a Professional Counselor also. Her experience includes internships with the Department of Child and Family Services, Public Mental Health with Adults and Children, teaching psychology at the college and high school level, service in public mental health in North Carolina, and has worked in three different states in group or residential care.  She has been in private practice since 1990.
